1 . Simple   texts   like   personal   letters,   standard   correspondence   without   special   termino- logy,   etc.   =   1   work-hour   equals   2000   characters    (empty   spaces   included)   corresponding to around 1.35 standard pages.  2 . Medium   difficulty   texts:   1   work-hour   equals   1500   characters    (empty   spaces   incl.); corresponds   to   one   standard   page,   roughly   equalling      250   words   in   English,      235   words in Italian and  210 words in German, depending on the type of text. 3 . Demanding   texts    like   technical   papers,   contracts,   official   and   legal   documents   with many   specialist   terms   or   similar:   1   work-hour   equals   roughly   1000    characters   (empty spaces   included)   corresponding   to   around   0.65    of   one   standard   page.   A   free   quote   / estimate is needed to know the exact price , depending on the type of document. 4 . Formatting:    Should   you   request   that   the   translation   is   to   display   quasi-identical   for- matting   to   the   original,   I   will   have   to   add   a   surcharge   of   20%    (only   applies   to   printed documents or images, photos or screenshots of text) 5 . Drafts and summaries: CHF. 39.− / work-hour  according to quote. 6 . Correcting   and   optimising   existing   translations,   (including   machine-translated   texts,   if advisable):   CHF   42.−    /   hour   according   to   quote   (depending   on   a   variety   of   factors,   see page “English”:   “special offer”  ).

Berechnungsgrundlagen

         Wie   bereits   erwähnt,   berechnen   die   meisten   Übersetzungsbüros   ihre   Preise   pro   Normzeile (55   Zeichen).    Diese   weit   verbreitete   Berechnungsart   verschleiert   die   effektiven,   sehr   hohen Kosten   pro   Standardseite.   Diese   liegen   in   der   Schweiz   bei   bis   zu   Fr.   90.−    pro   Standardseite   (ca.   1500   Zeichen),   oder   darüber.   Bei   Traduzioni-Pedemonte    finden   Sie   ein   einfaches,   klares und   günstiges   Preismodell,   das   ein   sofortiges   Abschätzen    der   effektiven   Kosten   ermöglicht (für   Preisgruppe   1   +   2):   Eine   feste   Anzahl   von   Anschlägen   inkl.   Leerstellen   pro   Arbeitsstunde, gestaffelt   nach   Schwierigkeitsgrad,   bei   einem   einheitlichen   Stundenpreis   von   Fr.   44.−          Der Mindestauftrag beträgt Fr. 25.−          Bitte   beachten   Sie   auch,   dass   mein   Stundenpreis   Zusatzleistungen   beinhaltet,   wie   z.   B.   zu- sätzliche   Recherchen,   deren   Aufwand   im   Voraus   schwer   abzuschätzen   ist,   und   die   ich   aus diesem    Grund    meinen    Kunden    nicht    verrechne.    (Auch    bei    einer    Übersetzung    mittleren Schwierigkeitsgrades sind das typischerweise 5 - 10 min pro Arbeitsstunde. )     Profitieren Sie auch von meinen Einführungspreisen, die bis Oktober 2022 gültig sind!

Calculating prices

         As   mentioned   before,   when   calculating   prices,   most   translation   agencies   work   by   counting standard   lines.   That   method   tends   to   conceal   the   real   price   per   standard   page   (around   1500 characters)   which   may   be   as   elevated   as   CHF   90.−    per    standard   page   of   normal   text   in   this country,   or   even   more.   Traduzioni-Pedemonte    offers   you   a   simple   method   to   figure   out   the prices   for   a   given   translation:   A   fixed   number   of   characters   per   work-hour,   according   to   the complexity of the text, at a price of   CHF 44.− / hour .   The minimum order is CHF 25.-            However,   please   bear   in   mind,   that   my   price   of   CHF   44.−    /work-hour   includes   additional research,   which   I   do   not   charge   my   customers ,   as   it   is   difficult   to   know   in   advance   how much   time   it   will   consume.   (But   even   with   a   translation   of   medium   difficulty,   that   effort   may typically amount to 5-10 minutes of additional work per hour of translation.)    Don’t forget to take advantage of my introductory offer that is valid until October 2022!

Transcriptions

         I’m   able   to   convert   excerpts   of   old   German   and   English   printed   material   into   electronic   text   with relative   ease   and   at   a   favourable   price   using   speech   recognition.   Nevertheless,   the   results   have   to be   manually   corrected.   For   manuscripts   this   depends   on   the   period   and   type   used.   You   should send   me   a   sample   of   the   text   for   evaluation.   You   will   also   have   to   wait   for   my   quote   to   know   the exact   price   of   that   work.   [For   Latin   texts   there   is   unfortunately   no   universally   usable   speech recognition   program,   mainly   due   to   the   different   accents   of   speakers   and   the   numerous   spelling variants.   Such   texts   have   to   be   typed   manually.   OCR   usually   produces   an   unusable   text,   as   the programs   cannot   distinguish   between   the   old   type   for   “f”   and   non-final   “s”,   letters   that   look nearly   identical   to   the   untrained   eye,   as   well   as   some   other   characters   (this   also   applies   to   old German    and    English    texts! ).    It    would    also    fail    to    recognize    any    common    Latin    contractions (abbreviations), used in some older type and in manuscripts.]

Transkriptionen

      Auszüge   aus   alten   deutschen   und   englischen   gedruckten   Texten   kann   ich   mittels   Spracher- kennung   relativ   mühelos   und   preisgünstig   in   elektronischen   Text   konvertieren,   dieser   muss   aber nachkorrigiert   werden.   Bei   Manuskripten   hängt   dies   vom   Alter   bzw.   Schrifttyp   ab.   Zur   Beurteilung sollten   Sie   mir   eine   Textprobe   zukommen   lassen.   Auch   für   diese   Arbeiten   müssen   Sie   für   den genauen   Preis   meinen   Kostenvoranschlag   abwarten.   [Für   lateinische   Texte   gibt   es   leider   kein   uni- versell   anwendbares   Spracherkennungsprogramm,   auch   aus   Gründen   der   verschiedenen   Akzente der    Sprecher    und    der    vielen    Orthographievarianten.    Solche    Texte    müssen    manuell    abgetippt werden,   denn   die   elektronische   Texterkennung   produziert   meist   nur   unbrauchbaren   Buchsta- bensalat,   da   sie   weder   das   alte   nicht-finale   „s“   von   „f“   unterscheiden   kann   (gilt   auch   für   alte englische   und   deutsche   Texte !),   noch   einige   andere   Buchstaben   erkennt,   sowie   mit   den   damals gebräuchlichen lateinischen Kontraktionen (Textkürzeln) nichts anfangen kann]

(Fr. 0.-)     Termine di pagamento: 30 giorni netto . (attualmente  IVA non richiesta)        IMPORTANTE:   Per   adesso   accetto   solo   incarichi   da   privati   o   ditte   con   recapito   sul   territorio svizzero.   Traduciamo   dall’italiano,   inglese,   tedesco,   francese   e   spagnolo   verso   il   tedesco   e inglese    e   italiano.      (Dal   francese   e   spagnolo   sono   esclusi   testi   legali   e   medici ,   invece   dal tedesco e inglese verso l’Italiano solo testi del gruppo di prezzo 1+2, vedi anche  FAQ  )       Per   clienti   nuovi   e   per   importi   superiori   a   Fr.   300 .-    riceverete   il   documento   tradotto   pro- tetto   da   password   e   un   file   PDF   con   una   parte   della   traduzione.   A   pagamento   avvenuto invece   riceverete   la   password   con   i   documenti   tradotti.   Per   testi   lunghi   potrete   chiedere   una prova, che, però - comprenderete - verra fatturata.

Principi generali

         Come   già   menzionato,   la   maggior   parte   delle   agenzie   di   traduzione   calcola   i   propri   prezzi per   riga   standard   (55   caratteri),   un   modello   che    tende   a   nascondere   i   prezzi   elevati   per pagina,   i   quali   da   noi   in   Svizzera   possono   anche   arrivare   fino   a   Fr.   90.−    per   pagina   standard     di   testo   semplice   (ca.   1500   caratteri).   Da   Traduzioni-Pedemonte,    invece,   trovate   un   calcolo semplice   con   prezzi   molto   vantaggiosi,   che   vi   permette   subito   di   stimare   il   prezzo   di   una traduzione:   Un   certo   numero   di   caratteri   per   ora   di   lavoro,   calcolando   Fr.   44.−   /ora,   a dipendenza del grado di difficoltà del testo .   L’ordine minimo è di Fr. 25.−          Tuttavia,   vi   prego   di   tenere   presente   che   la   mia   tariffa   oraria   di   Fr.   44.−    include   prestazioni aggiunte,    come    eventuali    ricerche    supplementari,    il    cui    costo    è    difficile    da    stimare    in anticipo,    per    cui    non    verrà    adebitato    al    cliente.    (Anche    con    una    traduzione    di    media difficoltà, si tratta normalmente di 5-10 minuti di lavoro extra per ora di lavoro ). Gruppi di prezzo  

1 . Testi   tecnici,   legali,   contratti,   documenti   ufficiali ,   etc.,   con   molti   termini   speciali:   1   ora   di   lavoro   corrisponde   a   circa   1000   caratteri   (spazi   vuoti   inclusi),   uguale   ca.   a   0.65   di   una pagina   media.   Questo   gruppo   permette   solo   calcoli   indicativi ,   dovete   aspettare   il   mio preventivo per sapere il prezzo esatto. 4 . Formattazione:    Se    il    cliente    richiede    che    la    traduzione    esibisca    una    formattazione identica   o   quasi   identica   all’originale,   nel   caso   che   quel   ultimo   sia   soltanto   disponibile   in forma   cartacea,   oppure   in   forma   immagini   (inclusi   i   file   PDF   non   convertibili),   oppure scan, screenshot e simili, applicherò una sopratassa del 20 %. 5 . Tariffa sociale TI  per gli abitanti del cantone  (deutsche Version hier)

         Per   studenti,   per   le   persone   in   cerca   di   lavoro   o   per   pensionati:      Prezzo   molto   conveniente per   l’intero   anno   2022:   Fr.   24.−/ora.   Vale   per   i   gruppi   di   prezzo   1   +   2;   e   5.      Mandate   p.f.   la copia   di   un   documento   o   attestazione,   comprovando   la   vostra   appartenenza   a   uno   di   quei gruppi   di   persone.   Offerta   limitata   a   documenti   fino   a   4000   caratteri,   corrisponde   a   2-3   pag- ine   circa .    Solo   dall’   italiano   al   tedesco   e   viceversa.   Nota:   Le   candidature   non   sono   quasi   mai del tipo 1 , anche perché nel vostro interesse devono essere tradotte in modo ineccepibile!

 Una premessa importante

         Quando   si   considerano   i   progressi   fatti   oggigiorno,   per   quanto   concerne   la   traduzione automatica,   molti   pensano   che   si   possa   tradurre   qualsiasi   testo,   o   documento   in   modo corretto con sistemi automatici quali  “ Google Translate ”, oppure  “ Deep L ”.          Ma   è   un   fatto   che   i   peggiori   risultati   che   si   possono   ottenere   con   la   traduzione   automatica siano proprio quelli dall’italiano o dal francese verso il tedesco o l’inglese .         Invece   funzionano   normalmente   bene   le   traduzioni   verso    l’ italiano   e   il   francese,   lingue,   le quali   sono   personalmente   in   grado   di   giudicare.   Spesso   pero   il   traduttore   automatico   usa l’inglese come lingua “ponte” , peggiorando il risultato ancora di più!          E   stranamente   sono   proprio   testi   dall’apparenza   facili ,   che   danno   spesso   risultati   in- accettabili.   Lo   posso   costatare   dalla   mia   esperienza   professionale   quale   traduttore.   Ma   è anche   vero   che   la   qualità   di   una   traduzione   automatica   dipende   molto   da   com’era   stato scritto e concepito il testo! Testi scritti male, producono risultati scadenti!       Anche   se   non   è   sempre   chiaro   il   motivo   per   cui   certi   testi   vengano   malamente   tradotti   dai sistemi   automatici,   il   risultato   insoddisfacente   è   spesso   legato   a   certe   frasi   o   costruzioni particolari ,   per   le   quali   ancora   oggi   solo   un   traduttore   umano   può   trovare   un   valida   alterna- tiva.   E,   come   già   detto,   il   rischio   più   grande   risulta   proprio   partendo   delle   combinazioni   delle lingue sopraccitate.       Sarebbe   dunque   estremamente   rischioso   di   tradurre   candidature,   C.V.,   materiale   pubbli- citario   o simile con un sistema automatico.          Spesso   i   risultati   sono   cosi   scarsi,   che   i   testi   devono   essere   ritradotti   completamente   da capo.    Se   una   traduzione   non   è   destinata   strettamente   ad   amici   o   conoscenti ,   consiglierei vivamente una traduzione umana.          È   altresì   chiaro,   che   alcuni   vogliono   o   devono    spendere   il   meno   possibile   per   una   tradu- zione,   ed   è   per   questo   motivo   che   vi   offro   la   possibilità   di   correggere   le   vostre   traduzioni ottenute   con   i   sistemi   automatici,   per   ridurre   al   minimo   i   costi.   Tuttavia,   ciò   è   soltanto possibile,   se   la   traduzione   ottenuta   è   di   qualità   sufficientemente   buona,   che   sia   sufficiente una attenta rilettura e qualche correzione.          Informazioni   più   dettagliate   le   trovate   sulla   pagina   “Google   and   Co.”    oppure   direttamente nel   mio   articolo   “Traduzione   automatica   e   Traduzione   umana ”,   la   versione   corta   qui ,   una   più dettagliata qui         Approfittando    dei     prezzi    promozionali     di    “Traduzioni    Pedemonte” ,    potete    avere    la certezza di pagare il minimo indispensabile. DEUTSCH          Eine wichtige Bemerkung vorab:

      Auf   Grund   der   Fortschritte,   die   heutzutage   bei   der   maschinellen   Übersetzung   erzielt   wur- den,   denken   viele,   dass   man   jeden   beliebigen   Text   einfach   und   korrekt   mit   automatischen Systemen wie z.B. " Google Translate " oder " Deep L " übersetzen kann.       Es   ist   aber   eine   Tatsache,   dass   gerade   Übersetzungen   aus   dem   Italienischen   und   Franzö- sischen   ins   Deutsche   oder   Englische   die   schlechtesten   Resultate    liefern.   Umgekehrt   hin- gegen   funktioniert   die   Übertragung   oft   fast   perfekt.   Es   kommt   auch   häufig   vor,   dass   das System Englisch als “Brückensprache” verwendet, was das Resultat beeinträchtigen kann.       Und   seltsamerweise   sind   es   gerade   scheinbar   einfache   Texte ,   bei   denen   die   automa- tische   Übersetzung   versagt.   Das   sehe   ich   aus   meiner   persönlichen   Erfahrung   als   Übersetzer. Natürlich   hängt   die   Qualität   einer   maschinellen   Übertragung   auch   stark   davon   ab,   wie   Ihr Text   geschrieben,   bzw.   konzipiert   wurde.   Schlecht   geschriebene   Texte   produzieren   ihrer- seits schlechte Übersetzungen!       Mehr   Informationen   dazu   in   meinem   Artikel   über   maschinelle   Übersetzung,   eine   kurze Version   auf   der   Seite   “Google   und   Co.”    oder   direkt   als   PDF   hier ,   eine   ausführlichere   Version hier          Obwohl   also   nicht   immer   klar   ist,   warum   bestimmte   Texte   von   automatischen   Systemen so   mangelhaft   übersetzt   werden,   steht   das   unbefriedigende   Resultat   meist   in   Zusammen- hang   mit   bestimmten   Redewendungen   oder   Formulierungen ,   für   die   auch   heutzutage   nur ein   menschlicher   Übersetzer   einen   gleichwertigen   Ersatz   finden   kann.   Und   wie   gesagt   gibt es das grösste Risiko bei den erwähnten Sprachpaaren.          Es   ist   daher   äusserst   riskant,   Bewerbungen,   Lebensläufe,   Werbetexte   oder   dergleichen automatisch übersetzen zu lassen. Oft   sind   die   Ergebnisse   so   dürftig,   dass   der   entsprechende   Text   komplett   neu   übersetzt werden   muss.   Wenn   also   eine   Übersetzung   nicht   für   den   engsten   Freundes-   oder   Bekann- tenkreis    bestimmt   ist,   so   würde   ich   zu   einer   Humanübersetzung   raten.   Es   ist   natürlich   ver- ständlich,   dass   jemand   so   wenig   wie   möglich   für   eine   Übersetzung   ausgeben   möchte,   wes- halb   ich   meinen   Kunden   bereits   die   Möglichkeit   anbiete,   Ihre   Übersetzungen,   die   Sie   mit automatischen   Systemen   getätigt   haben,   zu   korrigieren,   um   die   Kosten   auf   ein   Minimum   zu reduzieren.    Dies    geht    aber    nur,    wenn    eine    Übersetzung    qualitativ    so    gut    ist,    dass    eine Korrektur ausreicht.       Dank   meiner   konkurrenzlosen   Einführungspreise    können   Sie   sicher   sein,   günstig   und   gut bedient zu werden. That method may negatively impact a translation.       Sometimes,   strangely,   it’s   often   seemingly   simple   texts    that   produce   bad   results.   I   can attest   to   this   from   my   personal   experience   as   a   translator.   Naturally   this   also   depends   on the   quality   of   the   text   being   translated,   as   poorly   written   material   produces   poor   results generally.    Otherwise,   machine   translation   has   become   very   good   at   translating   documents written    in    a    good    and    clear    style,    except    in    certain    cases    like    in    the    combination    of languages cited above.       Although   it   may   not   always   be   obvious   why   certain   texts   are   poorly   translated   by   auto- matic   translation,   the   bad   results   are   usually   a   direct   consequence   of   the   use   of   certain idiomatic   expressions,   or   “usage”,   typical   of   the   original   language.   In   order   to   find   a   satis- factory   equivalent   for   those   expressions,   even   today   a   human   translator   is   needed.   But   as   I said   before,   the   biggest   risk   of   ending   up   with   a   useless   translation,   lies   in   the   language combinations mentioned, at least as far as I am able to judge.       It   is   therefore   extremely   risky   to   have   your   job   applications,   CVs,   advertising   texts,   or the like translated automatically.       Often   the   results   are   so   poor   that   the   text   has   to   be   translated   again   from   scratch.   So,   if   a translation   is   not   intended   for   friends   or   people   close   to   you,   I   would   personally   advise   to get it done by a human translator and against automatic translation.          Of   course,   I   sympathise   with   anyone’s   obvious   desire   to   spend   as   little   as   possible   on   a translation,   which   is   why   I   offer   you   the   option   of   optimizing   and   correcting   machine-trans- lated   texts.   However,   this   is   only   possible   if   a   given   translation   is   sufficiently   good   in   the   first place.          And   thanks   to   my   introductory   prices ,   you   can   be   sure   that   you’ll   get   more   than   a   fair   deal.
